Improve Your Web Site’s

There are many ways to promote your business online and off. The first and foremost are “back links” from other sites that have relevant content to yours. Why relevant? Search Engine “spider food”! If you have a website about a home business and all of your back link text are about home business and the page your link is on has a good rank for the keyword home business then your rank will go up also! Simple and makes perfect sense dosen’t it?

Request reciprocal links for sites that are related to the content on your site. Do a search using keywords that you have for your site. Visit some of the websites that you find. Look to see if they have Link Partners. Many sites will have a link that says, “join our link partners”, or submit your site. If they don’t then simply email then and ask if they would be interested in trading links with you. Make sure you notify them of your home page URL as well as your Link Partner URL.

Visit forums relevant to your content. Only post if you can be helpful. Do not spam. That will get you a bad reputation fast. When you do post, include you website link. Don’t waste a lot of time. If you don’t see any posts that you can reply on then move on….In most Niches you can usually find several targeted forums or blogs that are related that you can post comments on.

Start your own forum! Many servers offer web space as well as scripts for forums or blogs. That way you can target your own forum to refer to your web page contents. You can get a 30 day free trial for my server. They offer several different scripts for forums as well as blogs. Just “plug it in”, and start posting articles!

Another way to get multiple back links would be to join a network of friends. Not only do you get to meet like-minded people that are interested in your business, you also get free advertising spots. The Network I have been a member of for over a year is Adland. I get a lot of page visits from banner impressions as well as my text ads. All free. Plus you can start your own forum there and invite all of your friends to join. The friendliest online environment I have found.

My favorite: Article Directories! Why? You write about what you know about. Your Business. What could be more relevant?! Include you signature/Bio with your website link. Be informative and concise in your article, include your keywords in the article. Submit the article to directories like Goarticles Other people visit the article directory to find articles relevant to their pages. They are allowed to download your article and use it on their website but have to keep your name and link intact in the article. Therefore, you could spend 30 minutes writing a content rich article about your site and it may be displayed on hundreds of websites! That affords you “unlimited” links back to your site. Who knows the possibilities.

Offline advertising can also be beneficial. Including newspaper advertising, direct mailing, placing your website address on your car, roadside signs. These will be talked about in another article. If your interested in these forms of advertising now. Simply do a search on your favorite search engine for “offline advertising”.

May we all prosper with health and wealth.

Many online experts will tell you that all you need is a one page sales site to make money online. While this is in many ways true, if you have been online for any amount of time, the idea of a one page site is a novelty.

Even just having a one page site requires you to also have other pages that co- exist with the main page.

These are just basics. You will find yourself adding other pages in a short time:

Help pages Linking pages contact page

Plus if you are looking to rank better in the search engines, you will find yourself putting in content pages with interesting articles. Adding other pages like a page of freebies for your visitors or even simple interactive add-ons to make your site “sticky”.

The thing is - you will need many other pages to get your site ranked within the search engines, build trust with your visitors and establish yourself as a professional within your niche.

My suggestion is to start slow. You don’t want to build too many pages at once (too many pages can seem like spamming). Put a few articles on your site each month. Add some easy interactive features to your site.

Depending on your niche you can find free articles online that you can reprint within your site. You can also find some tools to add to your site for your visitors to use.

You should also place a links page that includes links you exchange with other sites as well as any sites you feel your visitors can benefit from. Don’t just add affiliate links and reciprical links. Actually put links that are a value to your visitors. This will help establish you as someone they can trust and not just a person looking to sell them something at every turn.

Finally, be sure to your navigation includes access to your pages so it will help you with SEO and make it easy for visitors to find what they want.

I am sure that once you begin and make that one page site - you will slowly find yourself adding more content, links and offers for your visitors. All this will help you increase your search engine popularity, make your site “sticky” and help establish that trust with your visitors that can turn that one page site into one that converts sales.
